Cambria Bridge "Happy Wall"
The 75 feet long wall is situated at the end of a play area notorious for graffiti and vandalism. It was originally painted by C.A.O.S member Ken White in 1974.
The picture above shows Gordon Dickinson, who designed and co-ordinated the painting of the mural, with some of the volunteers who turned up to join in.
The animals on the wall are based on drawings by pupils of the local primary school.
People involved in the painting included members of the Cambria Community Parks Project (all volunteers), C.A.O.S members, local children and most encouragingly, some of the young people responsible for the graffiti in the area.
Two years after completion the wall is still untouched by graffiti.
